Puerto Princesa Underground Riveris officially recornized for New7Wonders on Nature.
New7Wonders, made the announcement in Manila Puerto Princesa with Mayor Edward Hagedorn, PPUR campaign director Nardz Villafranca and Jean-Paul de la Fuente, New7Wonders director.
Puerto Princesa Mayor Edward Hagedorn, who also graced the event, notably used the new DOT slogan in his speech.
“This confirmation is wonderful news for Puerto Princesa, and a great example of how now its more fun to be in the Philippines. Worldwide exposure of our natural beauty on this level is critical both for tourism and for our image nationally and internationally,” he said.
Amongst the official New7Wonders of Nature are (in alphabetical order):
Amazon Rainforest – Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela
Halong Bay – Vietnam
Iguazu Falls – Argentina, Brazil
Jeju Island – South Korea
Komodo National Park – Indonesia
Table Mountain – South Africa
