Classes Suspended in Metro Manila and NCR on August 1, 2012 due to heavy rain. Heavy rain and strong winds brought by the southwest monsoon early Wednesday prompted the suspension of classes in more areas in Metro Manila.

DepEd also announced that classes were suspended in Angat for all levels in both public and private schools, and Meycauayan East (Saluysoy only).

Earlier, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim announced the suspension of afternoon classes from preschool to high school  due to inclement weather.

Typhoon "GENER" is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring rains and moderate to strong winds over Luzon and Western Visayas.
