Universities and Colloges in Philippines suspend classes on August 8, 2012 due to heavy rain and flooding in Metro Manila, National Capital Region (NCR) and nearby provinces. PAGASA said torrential rains experienced over much of Luzon, including Metro Manila, were caused by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Haikui, last spotted 300 kilometers northeast of Taiwan.

Among those Universities and Colleges who suspended their classes tomorrow, August 8 are:

  • Ateneo de Manila University 
  • Adamson University 
  • Far Eastern University
  • The University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center
  • Colegio de San Juan de Letran
  • De La Salle University
  • Philippine Women's University (Manila and Quezon City)
  • Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Sta. Mesa, Manila, San Juan, and Taguig), 
  • University of Perpetual Help (Las PiƱas, Molino and Calamba) have also suspended classes. 
  • The University of the Philippines Los Banos, Manila, and Diliman 
  • Arellano University and Trinity University of Asia.
