What is Coronaviruses? Coronaviruse were first identified in the 1960s, and were named after the crown-like projections on the surface of the virus. Coronaviruses cause respiratory infections in both humans and animals.

Philippine Primetime News reported about Sars-Like Coronavirus. According to reports, two cases have been recorded. A 60-year-old patient died in Saudi Arabia after the virus was confirmed in July. Another patient, a 49-year-old Qatari, first showed symptoms on September 3, was admitted to intensive care in Doha on September 7, and was flown by air ambulance to London last September 11.

Health officials in the Philippines are reportedly on alert for a possible entry of the deadly Coronavirus in the country.

Authorities have issued an advisory to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Saudi Arabia and Qatar to be alerted against a SARS-like Coronavirus.

Coronaviruses typically spread like other flu viruses. They are likely to be passed from person to person when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
