Typhoon Lawin Update- September 26, 2012

Typhoon "LAWIN" has maintained its strength and continues to move towards the Cagayan-Batanes area according to PAGASA Weather bulletin issued at: 11:00 p.m., 25 September 2012

Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 20 mm per hour (heavy - intense) within the 850 km diameter of the Typhoon.

Southwest Monsoon enhanced by the Typhoon will continue to bring moderate to heavy rains in Southern Luzon and Visayas


Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, the seaboards of Visayas and eastern seaboard of Mindanao due to big waves generated by "LAWIN" and Southwest Monsoon.
