Two Filipinos died at Algeria Hostage Taking- Rescue Operation according to a newspaper from Britain, The Times. DFA is yet to confirm the news however.

CBS report said that, several casualties in failed rescue operation launched by Algerian army to try free hostages held by islamist militants on the BP gasfiield of IN AMENAS near the Libyan border.

According to Fox News, Islamist militants have told a Mauritanian news outlet that Algerian military helicopters strafed the gas complex where they are holding hostages, killing 35 of the foreigners and 15 of the kidnappers.
